Beginner Nose Work

Beginner nose work introduces dogs to using their natural sense of smell to find specific target odors in a fun, structured way. Guided by Charlie Engen, these lessons focus on building confidence, teaching dogs how to search, and helping handlers learn how to read their dog’s nose and body language. Nose work is suitable for dogs of all ages and provides mental enrichment while strengthening the handler–dog relationship.

Outdoor Scent & Odor Work Training

This outdoor training exercise introduces dogs to using their nose in two distinct ways: following human scent trails (tracking) and locating specific odors or articles (odor work). Dogs learn to work independently in natural environments, building focus, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Guided by Charlie Engen, this training helps handlers understand the difference between trail-based scent work and source-based odor detection while strengthening reliable outdoor search behavior.
